Richard Whitehead - 40 marathons in 40 days.

Richard Whitehead

What did you all do this weekend? If your answer doesn’t start with ‘sat in the back of an open van’ and end in ‘photographed a guy running the length of the country one marathon at a time’ then I won the weekend. Sat on two pieces of foam I photographed Paralympic Gold medallist Richard Whitehead as he continues his mission to run from John O’Groats to Land’s End for charity (I was filling in for photographer David Baird who’s covering the entire journey).

Every morning Rich gets up, fits his two prosthetic legs, and then runs a marathon. He’ll do this 40 times to cover the distance. It’s as astonishing as it is inspirational. More details, including how to donate, can be found here.
