We found the greenhouses and, among the scents of tulips, pretended it was Spring &#8211; the thermometer read 20 degrees. Then we broke our clean and lean diet and gorged on cream teas with homemade scones and redcurrant jam and followed it up with a lemon cake (the latter was more &#8216;me&#8217; than &#8216;we&#8217;). The grounds are nice but they&#8217;re no cake.
